Mini-Vacation for $20

We realize this is a hard time for many in our community so we give you 1960’s prices for this 2-½ day family event. The Boise River Volunteers and Gruntwerks Events would like to invite the public to the 10th annual Eagle Island Experience Festival at Eagle Island State Park, Eagle Idaho.

May 22, 2009 doors open at 10 AM show from 11 to 10:00 PM

May 23, 2006 doors open at 10 AM show from 11 to 6 PM

If you buy your tickets at ticketfly.com before opening night a three-day pass is $20 and a day pass is $8, this includes Idaho State Parks parking fee. Door prices are $10 per day or $25 for a weekend pass including the park entry fee. Kids 12 and under are free and family passes for the whole weekend will also be available at a discounted rate.

OK, the price is right for around 26 hours of eclectic music, but what makes this experience any different from all the others? The Experience Festival is a celebration like no other. It’s a place where visitors, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and creative artists come together for a shared event. The air is full of conversation, color, enticing sights, sounds and scents – all beckoning visitors to be, to share, and to enjoy. Our our music will lighten your step, our environment will give you peace, our vendors will enlighten you, our food will allow you to sample diverse cuisines, and our creative artists will set your spirit free.

Our benefactor, Boise River Volunteers, will be running the kid’s zone this year. They will provide 3 large bounce houses, art, and activities for kids of all ages to enjoy without leaving mom and dad broke. Boise River Volunteers is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization whose main focus is to clean the Boise River and surrounding waterways. They assist river patrons by providing patches, pumps and alternate means off the Boise River when needed. They run the GOOD program (Great Outdoor Opportunities for the Disabled) and plan to launch a new youth program in summer 2010. For more information check them out at www.riverhelpers.com.

Friday night will be a night to remember. We start off with the great sounds and of the BoDo Brothers, and then flow into the reggae vibe with Voice of Reason, followed by the headliner, blues legend Eddie Shaw and the Wolf Gang (Howlin’ Wolf’s band) from Chicago.

Saturday is a day of great craft booths, food, drink, healers, bounce houses, and many surprises! It’s rock and roll day with headliner David Andrews, the funk sounds of Lori B!, Jonathan Warren and The Billy Goats, Poke. And don’t forget the belly dancers, plus a new fire show by the Fire Kittens to close out the night.

Sunday we complete the festival with a day in the sun, dancing to the fine sounds of Dick Polley, Soul Serene, Gizzard Stone, and capping off the day with Idaho's gem, Rosalie Sorrels.
